A Seeker's Journey: Based in the heart of France's Basque Country, Khaïr emerges as a unique musical force. A self-described ‘seeker’, Khaïr transcends genres, weaving a tapestry of sound that fuses the raw energy of rock with evocative Eastern influences.
Reinvention & Evolution: Following a long hiatus dedicated to introspection, martial arts, and Eastern philosophy, Khaïr returned in 2021 with his electrifying debut solo album, "It's All About... Rock 'n' Roll." This stripped-down release, featuring just his vocals, a guitar, and a Darbuka (an Arabic drum), channeled the raw energy of the old blues masters while hinting at a deeper artistic evolution to come. It was a testament to Khaïr's enduring passion for rock and his desire to explore its roots.
Arabic Wisdom: Unveiling a Spiritual Tapestry
Recorded in late 2022 and released in 2023, Khaïr's critically acclaimed EP, "Arabic Wisdom," marked a pivotal moment in his artistic journey. This sonic odyssey found him collaborating with legendary producer Alan Smyth in the city of Sheffield in the UK. Smyth, known for his work with influential acts like Pulp, Arctic Monkeys, Reverend and the Makers, and The Long Blondes, brought his expertise to bear, helping Khaïr realize his artistic vision for "Arabic Wisdom."
A Universal Voice: Singing exclusively in English, Khaïr's powerful vocals guide listeners through his original compositions and infectious rhythms in a compelling and engaging style. This linguistic choice also ensures his message transcends cultural boundaries, fostering a sense of shared humanity through his music.

Khaïr's musical journey began with Tarif Illégal, a band for which he also produced their sole commercial album, in addition to being the lead singer and the mastermind behind their sound. This genre-bending group, lauded by Music & Media magazine as a "top emerging talent", defied expectations with their sound. Fueled by Khaïr's passion for Egyptian music and the rich tapestry of the Arabic world, Tarif Illégal blended their musical heritage with the raw energy of "ruthless, distorted guitars", creating a unique ‘oriental grunge variety’ in sound. Their debut album drew inspiration from both Egyptian pop and early 80s punk. While primarily playing guitar-driven rock, Tarif Illégal, under Khaïr's creative vision, also incorporated traditional Arabic instruments, adding depth and intrigue to their sound. Their music video for the captivating "Chaque Nuit" gained airplay on the French music channel MCM, highlighting the band's infectious energy and innovative approach.
A Master of Fusion: Khaïr's approach to percussion features a fascinating blend of his rock roots together with spiritual exploration. While undeniably influenced by the driving power of drums in rock music, he seamlessly integrates them with the Darbuka (an Arabic goblet drum) and the Bendir (a frame drum). This combination adds a distinct percussive flavor to his sound, one that is both powerful and nuanced. He further infuses his music with the haunting melodies of the Ney flute, an instrument which expresses an ethereal and evocative tone that reflects his deep connection to spirituality. The result is a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly unique ꟷ a truly "oriental grunge variety" of sound as described by Music & Media magazine during his time with Tarif Illégal.

The powerful single "No 2 Racism" echoes the spirit of the Rock Against Racism (RAR) movement, a pivotal force in the UK during the 1970s that used punk rock to fight racism and promote multiculturalism. Khaïr's artistic odyssey has just embarked on its most thrilling new direction to date. "Arabic Wisdom" was a captivating prelude, a taste of an innovative evolution in music yet to come.
In March 2024, an pivotal collaboration was launched at Liverpool's Soundhouse Recording Studios. The legendary producer, Dave Pemberton, famed for his work with The Prodigy, Groove Armada, Orbital, Motorhead, Kasabian, Manic Street Preachers, joined forces with Khaïr to weave a tapestry of sound that transcends genres. This partnership unlocks a fresh sonic landscape, where Khaïr's signature ‘fusion style’ takes flight with exhilarating new influences.
Khaïr's sound is poised for an electrifying transformation. For the first time since his solo comeback, the explosive energy of a live drummer from the talented young Manchester musician, Joel Goodwin, will pulse through his music. Another layer of depth and richness is added through the distinct rhythms of Egyptian Manchester-based Darbuka player, Mehdat El Masry. Under Dave Pemberton's masterful production, these elements coalesce into a sonic alchemy, propelling Khaïr's music toward stratospheric new heights.

This sonic evolution culminated in the release of Khaïr's debut single, "Always," on July 3, 2024. The track has quickly garnered critical acclaim and significant radio play in the UK, the US, and worldwide. With a sharp increase in followers and streams, "Always" has captured the attention of music lovers globally.
Following the success of "Always," Khaïr released his second single, "The One," which has also been well-received by listeners and radio stations, further solidifying his growing fanbase.
Khaïr's strategic approach of releasing each single from his 5-track EP with Dave Pemberton in two-month intervals, aims to sustain attention and build momentum.
